Make a donation
The purpose of the Luxembourg Air Rescue Foundation is to support Luxembourg Air Rescue by raising charitable donations to finance its humanitarian mission.
Saving lives through your will
By leaving a legacy to the Luxembourg Air Rescue Foundation, you help ensure that lifesaving support from the air remains possible for generations to come.
The Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR) helicopter is and remains the fastest means of transport to bring urgently needed medical assistance to patients.
Support us so that we can continue to take off tomorrow when every minute counts.
Air rescue is expensive
A state-of-the-art rescue helicopter now costs around €11 million, and each flight hour about €5,000. A legacy donation helps ensure that Luxembourg Air Rescue remains operational in the long term.
Every euro stays in Luxembourg — and saves lives here
Strict oversight guarantees that every donation to the Luxembourg Air Rescue Foundation stays within the country and goes directly into air rescue — for more than 37 years, transparent and without detours.
A last will that saves lives
By donating to the Luxembourg Air Rescue Foundation in your will, you save lives — long after your own.
During a vital secondary transfer, Luxembourg Air Rescue flew little Julie to Paris — giving her the chance of a future. Thanks to the swift and safe mission, she can laugh freely today.
“I placed my daughter’s life in the hands of LAR.”
Marie, mother of little Julie
My daughter Julie was born at just 27 weeks. Tiny — and with a severe heart defect. My world collapsed. The doctors said she had to be transferred immediately to a specialist clinic in Paris. Transport by road? Impossible. “We need Air Rescue.” I will never forget the moment the LAR crew arrived on the ward — calm, determined and full of compassion. Gently, they settled my tiny baby into the incubator. I placed Julie’s life in their hands…
Thanks to LAR, my daughter is now a healthy, happy child. I will be forever grateful.
When Pierre’s heart stopped, lifesaving help came from above. In less than ten minutes, the LAR team was on scene — fighting for every heartbeat. Today, Pierre savours life more consciously and celebrates his second birthday.
“I thought I was losing him — but then help arrived from the air.”
Martine, Pierre’s wife
One morning, I found my husband Pierre unconscious in the bathroom — to me, he looked lifeless. In a panic, I dialled 112. Not even ten minutes later, I could already hear the helicopter. The LAR emergency doctor began resuscitation immediately — a battle for every heartbeat. Together with the intensive care nurse, he brought Pierre back to life. He survived without any lasting damage.
I know that without LAR, he wouldn’t be here with me today.

Testimonial
“When I held my little granddaughter in my arms for the first time, I could hardly believe that only weeks earlier she had been fighting for her life.
Without LAR, I might never have met Julie.
That’s why I donate today — so that other families can receive this lifesaving help too.”

WHAT IS FLAR?
The Luxembourg Air Rescue Foundation provides essential material and financial support for the humanitarian work of Luxembourg Air Rescue a.s.b.l., so helping LAR save lives and rescue those in medical distress in Luxembourg, the Greater Region and the world over, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The foundation funds its mission by raising charitable donations. The foundation uses the money it raises in this way to supply LAR with the medical kit it needs for its air ambulances. This equipment includes defibrilators, instruments for blood analysis, as well as smaller items, such as ‘Perfusors’, used to regulate intravenous medication.
The foundation provides important funding for the purchase of aircraft for LAR’s fleet of air ambulances, something which would normally be unaffordable for an a.s.b.l.
The donations collected by FLAR are not used to pay salaries or maintenance costs. The ownership of the aircraft and the equipment it helps to buy remains with FLAR, which then places them at the disposal of LAR. FLAR’s decisions on which projects to support or not are taken independently. The governing body works on an honorary basis and is audited annually by certified public accountants.
The Foundation collects all donations in favour of A.s.b.l. Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR). Donations to the Fondation Luxembourg Air Rescue (FLAR) are tax deductible from a minimum cumulative amount of 120 euros, paid to various organisations during the year.
