Devastating fire destroys medical equipment

A devastating fire in our medical stock destroyed almost all the medical equipment of our rescue helicopters and ambulance jets.

In this difficult situation, LAR is more dependent than ever on the support of the population. Make a donation too!

WHAT IS FLAR?

The Luxembourg Air Rescue Foundation provides essential material and financial support for the humanitarian work of Luxembourg Air Rescue a.s.b.l., so helping LAR save lives and rescue those in medical distress in Luxembourg, the Greater Region and the world over, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The foundation funds its mission by raising charitable donations. The foundation uses the money it raises in this way to supply LAR with the medical kit it needs for its air ambulances. This equipment includes defibrilators, instruments for blood analysis, as well as smaller items, such as ‘Perfusors’, used to regulate intravenous medication.

The foundation provides important funding for the purchase of aircraft for LAR’s fleet of air ambulances, something which would normally be unaffordable for an a.s.b.l.

The donations collected by FLAR are not used to pay salaries or maintenance costs.  The ownership of the aircraft and the equipment it helps to buy remains with FLAR, which then places them at the disposal of LAR. FLAR’s decisions on which projects to support or not are taken independently. The governing body works on an honorary basis and is audited annually by certified public accountants.

All charitable donations to Luxembourg Air Rescue a.s.b.l. are remitted directly to the Foundation. Donations to the “Fondation Luxembourg Air Rescue” are tax deductible as long as the annual contribution is at least 120€.

A legacy in your will can save lives

Use your will to send a message of continuing solidarity and hope by making a bequest. In this way, your commitment to humanitarian projects, like LAR, can live on.

Did you know that you can also use your will to give to non-profit organizations, like the Fondation Luxembourg Air Rescue. Such a donation to the Foundation will help save lives in the future and help LAR square up to the enormous challenges it faces. Your generosity will help us assure the future well-being of others and shows your solidarity with the whole community.

Without hurting the interests of your immediate family, you can do a good deed which will be remembered by your loved ones.

A will has to respect the ‘children’s statutory portion’. If you have no children, you can dispose of your entire property in any way you please. If you do have children, the statutory portion will depend on the number of children you have. By supporting the Luxembourg Air Rescue Foundation you help us to save lives, even beyond your own lifetime. For further information, please contact your notary.

Anyone can leave a legally valid will, so long as they are mentally competent and capable of expressing their intentions.

The different types of will described below offer you several different ways of rembembering the Luxembourg Air Rescue Foundation in your will and so leave a lasting legacy to the whole community and help save lives.

The handwritten testament

The handwritten testament is a completely handwritten document, which is dated and signed and specifies FLAR as a beneficary of your will. Fondation Luxembourg Air Rescue should be named as a transferee. By continuing to carry out its life-saving mission, the FLAR respects your last wishes. We strongly recommend that you deposit the handwritten testament with your notary.

The public testament

In the case of a public testament, you can dictate your will to your notary in the presence of two witnesses. The notary will legally recognise the Fondation Luxembourg Air Rescue as your beneficiary. After the testament is read in front of the witnesses, it needs to be signed by all those present. A public testament eliminates any room for doubt regarding the contents or the legality of your will. You can be reassured that, thanks to your generosity, the Fondation Luxembourg Air Rescue will be able to continue its life-saving mission in a professional manner.

The donation

A donation has to be made in your lifetime. A testamentary gift allows you to share in the gratification of your beneficiary. By this notarial deed, you enable the Fondation Luxembourg Air Rescue to give hope and continue its life-saving mission.

Life- or pension insurance

You can also appoint the Fondation Luxembourg Air Rescue as a beneficiary of a life- or pension insurance. This contractual agreement gives us the possibility to continue our life-saving mission.

Can I revoke my testament?

You can modify or revoke your testament at any time, regardless of what form it takes.
